Frequently Asked Questions

What is Microblading?

  • Microblading is an up-and-coming form of semi-permanent make-up.  Artists use “microblades,” tiny needle-like blades to insert pigments into the top layer of the skin.  These individually-created strokes mimic natural hair growth and result in stunning and natural-looking eyebrows (and hairlines)!

Can anyone have Microblading done?

Who is creating these amazing brows?

Does it hurt?

  • In order to minimize discomfort, a topical anasthesia is applied to the eyebrow area for 20 minutes.  Most report little to no pain, but please be advised that the microblading experience will differ from person to person and there is no guarantee that there will be no discomfort.

How long does it last?

  • Microbladed eyebrows can last up to 2 years, but will typically last closer to 1 year. For lip tint and eyeliner, it can last 3 to 5 years.

How long is an appointment?

  • The first microblading appointment will take approximately 2 - 2.5 hours. The refinement touch-up appointment will take approximately 1.5 hours.

What should I expect after the first session?

What does the healing process look like?

The healing process can be nerve-wracking! The entire healing process will take around 6 weeks depending on a variety of factors. Your new eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing process. Temporary side effects from microblading include, but are not limited to, redness, swelling, puffiness, bruising, dry patches, peeling and tenderness.

  • Day 1-2: The first few days after the procedure can be difficult to handle! The eyebrows are much bolder and darker than they will be when they are fully healed. Expect light to moderate swelling, oozing and redness. Exfoliation, which begins in a few days, will cause the excess pigment surrounding the eyebrow to flake away and a more narrow appearance will result. New skin will heal over the pigmented area and result in a softer appearance of your eyebrows. Don’t panic!

  • Day 3-5: Eyebrows start to itch and will appear a bit thicker in texture. The skin begins to flake. Eyebrows appear softer and grayer for a few days until color clarifies.

  • Day 6-9: The color has lightened from its initial overly-dark appearance. For the next few days, the color may be lighter than the final color.

  • Day 10-30: Color will continue to darken into its final color. Pigment retention will vary from person to person. Some of the strokes/ parts of strokes may retain better than others.

  • **6-8 week refinement touch-up appointment is to correct unevenness and add necessary strokes.

What are the instructions for aftercare?

Is a 6-8 week touch-up appointment necessary?

Yes, the 6-8 week touch-ups are essential aspects of the services  we provide. Pigment retention differs from person to person, and it is important to have a second session after the first session has healed. This is to refine the process and perfect your brows!

How often do I need to get a touch-up?

Different people retain the microbladed strokes differently depending on factors such as exercise, sun exposure, oiliness of skin, etc. Touch-ups can happen anywhere from 6 months+

Can I become a microblading artist?

Of course! We offer certification courses.
